Topics Patient Refund Search:
Introduction
The screen 'Patient Refund' has been introduced in PrognoCIS so that advances can be refunded back to patients. On the 'Patient Refund' screen, provision has been given to the user to select a credit amount (from different claims) which has to be refunded to the patient.

Properties: This button is exclusively visible to users with Read Access to the Properties Master screen. Access to this button is strategically granted to enhance user functionality. Clicking the Properties button triggers a popup, presenting a list of properties from the Properties Master screen in PrognoCIS that cater to the Patient Refund screen.

Patient Voucher No: On selecting the patient's name from the Pay to Patient field, the number gets automatically generated on clicking the 'Save' button. The prefix displayed for the Insurance Refund Voucher No. is based on the property era.ins.refund.voucherno.prefix .

Voucher Date:
Enter the date on which the voucher was created. By default, the current date is displayed in the field, which can be changed either manually or by clicking on the calendar icon next to the field.

Advance Amount: On selection of the patient's name, the advance amount for that patient is auto-populated in the field. The field remains disabled for manual changes.

Pay to Patient: Select the patient using the search icon or type the patient's name in the Pay to Patient field. This is a mandatory field marked with a red asterisk.

Payment Mode:
Select the mode of payment from the dropdown. The options available in the dropdown are Check, Cash, or Credit Card. The appropriate option can be selected from the dropdown.

Check No:
This field is enabled when the Check option is selected in the Payment Mode field; otherwise, for the Cash and Credit Card options, the field remains disabled. Enter the check number in this field. Check No. is mandatory when the Payment Mode is set to Check.

Check Date:
This field is enabled when the Check option is selected in the Payment Mode field; otherwise, for Cash and Credit Card, the field remains disabled. Enter the date mentioned on the check.

Credit Card:
When the Credit Card option is selected, a new three-dotted button is displayed, which helps users document credit card details on the Patient Refund screen. When the Credit Card option is selected, the Check No and Check Date fields are disabled. The three-dotted button displayed next to the payment option is enabled, allowing users to document credit card details such as Card No., Card Holder, and Card Type, if applicable.

Refund Amount:
After entering all of the above details, the 'Save' button is enabled. Furthermore, clicking the 'Save' button displays the Refund Amount option as a hyperlink. Clicking the hyperlink opens a pop-up displaying details such as Adv Amt, Bal Amt, Used Amt, Loc, BU, Rendering Doc, and Attending Doc. Based on the Adv Amt and Bal Amt, the Used Amt can be entered in the field, and clicking the 'OK' button displays this amount in the Refund Amount field. This field is mandatory.
Note: The Used Amount can never be more than the Bal Amount. If a user enters a Used Amount greater than the Bal Amt, a validation message is displayed saying 'Used Amount Is Greater Than Balance Amount'.

This is not a mandatory field, but the user can add any important comments in this field for reference.
