Introduction

A physician would be referring the patient to a specialist for various reasons as a part of routine check-up. This could depend on the age, sex, medical history of the patient.s This master defines the possible list of consults. This list will depend on the clinic specialty.

Field Description
*Name: Name of the consult. This can be like Eye examination or Progression of Cataract.

*Sex: Select the applicable gender for the Consult; accordingly the consult is then available either for Male or Female or for Both genders.

Specialty: The drop-down list displays list of Physicians to whom the consult can be referred. It is required that the Consult be refered to a Physician with the selected specialty. Note: On changing a specialty, the list of preferred doctors changes.

Pref. Doctor: A list of referring Doctors with the above selected specialty is shown here. One of the referring Doctors can be selected to a default / preferred Doctor. During an encounter when a letter is to be selected for a Consult, if applicable, it will be marked by default to his preferred Doctor. Of course the user will have the flexibility to change the referring Doctor before sending out the letter.

Letter Template: Encounter Letter outs are generated on Progress Notes based Template. Select the default Template to be used while generating a Consult letter.

Active: The option when selected considers the Consult as 'Active' else 'Inactive'. The system considers only active consults for scheduling as part of Protocols.

Action buttons

save: a click on the save button either creates a new record if not existing or updates the changes in an existing record.

delete: a click on the delete button invokes a prompt to confirm deletion of record. The system deletes the record if the ok button is clicked.

reset: a click on reset button reverts the field values to the last saved changes.
