| Introduction:
A standard list of pharmacy vendors is provided by Surescripts; the list is viewed from the Prescription Screen
→ Pharmacy Search popup. A clinic has the provision to maintain a separate list of pharmacy vendors preferred by patients and by clinic users or providers. These preferred lists are viewed by clicking the Pref Pharm. button on the Prescription Screen. Navigation: Go to the patient's Encounter → TOC → Prescription → click the Pref Pharm. button The Pharmacy Search popup displays two distinct icons, namely Patient Pharmacy: The following sections explain in detail these two types of Preferred Pharmacies in PrognoCIS: Patient Preferred Pharmacy A list of patient-preferred pharmacies is added from the Patient Registration Screen. On the Patient Registration Screen, there is a Pharmacy icon: When a user clicks on this icon, the system invokes the Patient Preferred Pharmacy popup, wherein the user can select a maximum of 10 pharmacies as the patient's preferred pharmacies. The popup displays the Name, Address, and Telephone Number of the pharmacy. The selected pharmacy list is available on the Prescription Screen too. Field Description on the Patient Preferred Pharmacy Popup: Pharmacy: Click on the search icon to select a pharmacy from the Pharmacy Vendors Master List provided by Surescripts. Initially, if there are no prescriptions sent for the patient and no pharmacy is selected as the patient's preferred pharmacy, then no pharmacies are shown in the Patient Preferred Pharmacy Popup. If there exists a prescription sent for the patient, then the pharmacy which was selected in that prescription is displayed in this list by default. If there is more than one prescription sent for the patient, then all the pharmacies to which the prescriptions were sent are listed in this popup by default, where the pharmacy entered in the last prescription of the patient is shown at the top. It is not mandatory to configure the Patient's Preferred Pharmacy and it can be set to blank, because a patient may prefer to go to any pharmacy while on travel. Start typing the pharmacy name in the Pharmacy Search text box and a list of matching names present in the master are displayed, so that one of them can be selected. Patient's Preferred Pharmacies can also be added by the patient from the Patient Portal web application. All the pharmacies added from the Patient Portal are displayed in the Patient Preferred Pharmacy Popup. Move Up and Move Down Buttons: Users can set the sequence of the pharmacies in the list or manually drag-and-drop the record on mouse press. The selected pharmacy list is available on the Prescription Screen too and in the same order. Name: This column displays the name of the pharmacy. Address: This column displays the address of the pharmacy. Telephone: This column displays the telephone number of the pharmacy. Clinic Preferred Pharmacy *Code: It is the code of the pharmacy vendor. *Name: It is the name of the pharmacy. Address Button: Click to enter or edit the address of the pharmacy vendor. The address entered in the Address Popup is displayed in the next line's Address Field. Address: Displays the address of the pharmacy vendor that is entered in the Address Popup (click the Address Button). Regn. No: It is the registration number of the pharmacy vendor. Title: It is the title of the contact person for the respective pharmacy vendor. For example: Mr., Ms., Mrs., etc. First Name: It is the first name of the contact person for the respective pharmacy vendor. Middle Name: It is the middle name of the contact person for the respective pharmacy vendor. Last Name: It is the last name of the contact person for the respective pharmacy vendor. Active: Select the checkbox to make the pharmacy vendor active. Import: Click to import the required pharmacy from the Surescripts pharmacy list.
