The list of Group Types is fixed. These are just the names of different lists
required by the application. The user can define the elements of each list under
groups. The group types are classified as Non System and System types. Non-System types: are those lists whose element definition is within the control of the User. System types: are those lists, whose elements are predefined when the Database is created. viz. Drug Class, Vendor Types, Medic Types etc. Type: This is an alphanumeric code (length 2) used internally by the system to classify the data. The user cannot modify them. The link invokes the group definition screen. If the user has been assigned role ‘sysgrp’ only then will the system groups have the link enabled. Name: The names are predefined. However the user can change them. This field is mandatory and cannot be Blank. Code Length: While defining the elements under Groups, if the user desires to follow codes, define the applicable code length (1 – 10 characters alphanumeric). If Code is Not required keep the code length as zero. e.g. Department Names may be coded, Doctors Specialty might not follow codes. Hierarchy: Check this box to indicate that groups need to be arranged and displayed in an hierarchial order for selection. |
