| A user has a choice of many menu options within PrognoCIS.
Each menu option selection is considered an event. Workflow is a defined
sequence of such events associated with an encounter. The user is likely
to need different events or sequences of events depending on the Encounter
Type. Here, all possible workflow event sequences are defined. These will
later be assigned to Encounter Types. Select the required events using the button.
The sequence of selected events can be changed using the Move Up and Move
Down buttons. Note that the current row is shown in a blue band. Doctors have the privilege of overriding the defaults with their own choice. Set them if necessary under Settings > Configuration > Medics > Doctors Master, Workflow button. How does it work? When a patient encounter is selected, the Patient Band Information and Encounter Details are loaded. The system knows the Encounter Type for the selected encounter, as well as the Login Person. The system reads the preferred workflow for the Encounter Type. Having obtained the applicable workflow, it knows all the events and their sequence. Two buttons are displayed for the Next and Prev workflow events. Since workflow button sizes are limited, the text may be abbreviated. However, the tooltip will display the complete option name. Consider that the selected workflow event sequence is HPI, VT, ROS, FH, PH, CM, RX. Now, if the user happens to be on ROS, clicking the Prev button will take them to VT, and clicking Next will take them to FH (Family History). This way, the user can navigate to the required option very easily, without considering the TOC options. |
