Topics Ready for Billing Search:

If CPT/HCPC code is selected in Assessment, then it can be Billed. Encounter Close screen displays a check Box Ready to Bill. If this is checked, a Billing entry is created, and is seen under Claims > Edit.

Ideally this can be created on close encounter. Many a times the Doctor can leave the encounter open because, he wants to put in some Notes, Or is waiting for some transcription Or any other reason. It could still be likely that the CPT/HCPC Codes are present in Assessment and that there is no reason to withhold the Billing. To provide for such a real life situation, this check Box Ready to Bill has been provided. If the user is on the close encounter screen and closes the encounter without checking this check box, in that the program smartly assumes it to be checked and processes it accordingly.

The only fallout of this feature is that, each time the user visits the Encounter Close screen and click ON, if the Ready to Bill check Box is checked, it tries to delete existing Billing record and recreates a new one for the encounter. So it the Biller had made some changes they are lost. However if the Biller has completed his changes, and sent the Charge, then the records are not deleted and recreated. Infact the Ready to Bill check box becomes checked but disabled.
