Generalized Randomization Process for Drug, Alcohol, and Drug-Alcohol screening (Randomization for Drug, Alcohol & DA Screening (RANDOM_SCREENING2)) helps clinics (especially in occupational medicine) to randomly select patients and/or schedule appointments for patients for drug, alcohol, and drug-alcohol screenings.

The property random.drugscreening.applicable is used to determine whether the scheduled screening process is applicable for the clinic.
Following is the list of admin-level properties, along with their purposes, that are added under Generalized Random Screening in PrognoCIS to support the Generalized Randomization Process for Drug, Alcohol, and Drug-Alcohol screening:
  • random.screen.drug.appt.docid: It is used to specify the Provider/Resource ID that is to be considered as the Appointment Provider for drug-only screening in the Generalized Randomization scheduled process.

  • random.screen.alcohol.appt.fromhrs: It is used to specify the starting time of the day that is to be considered for alcohol-only screening in the Generalized Randomization scheduled process. The valid value can be anything from 0 to 23, where 0 is 12 midnight and 23 is 11 p.m.
  • random.screen.alcohol.appt.uptohrs: It is used to specify the end time of the day that is to be considered for alcohol-only screening in the Generalized Randomization scheduled process. The valid value can be anything from 1 to 24, where 1 is 1 a.m. and 24 is 12 a.m. and should be greater than the starting time.
  • random.screen.drugalcohol.appt.docid: It is used to specify the Provider/Resource ID that is to be considered as the Appointment Provider for drug-alcohol screening in the Generalized Randomization scheduled process.

  • random.screen.drugalcohol.appt.loccode: It is used to specify the Location Code that is to be considered as the location for drug-alcohol screening in the Generalized Randomization scheduled process.
  • random.screen.drugalcohol.appt.fromhrs: It is used to specify the starting time of the day that is to be considered for drug-alcohol screening in the Generalized Randomization scheduled process. The valid value can be anything from 0 to 23, where 0 is 12 midnight and 23 is 11 p.m.
  • random.screen.drugalcohol.appt.uptohrs: It is used to specify the end time of the day that is to be considered for drug-alcohol screening in the Generalized Randomization scheduled process. The parameters of the Generalized Randomization Process for Drug, Alcohol, and Drug-Alcohol screening are:
  • Drug Percentage: It is a mandatory numeric field. Enter the annual percentage of employees or annual count of employees who should undergo Drug screening in a cycle of one year, i.e., January to December.
  • Alcohol Percentage: It is a mandatory numeric field. Enter the annual percentage of employees or annual count of employees who should undergo Alcohol screening in a cycle of one year, i.e., January to December.
  • Drug-Alcohol Percentage: It is a mandatory numeric field. Enter the annual percentage of employees or annual count of employees who should undergo Drug-Alcohol screening in a cycle of one year, i.e., January to December.
  • Use Above Numbers As: This field determines whether the numbers entered in the Drug Percentage, Alcohol Percentage, and Drug-Alcohol Percentage fields should be considered as annual percentage numbers or annual counts. The values in this dropdown list are Annual Percentage, Annual Count, Period Percentage, and Period Count.
    • When Annual Percentage is selected in the Use Above Numbers As parameter, then all the figures specified in the Drug Percentage, Alcohol Percentage, and Drug-Alcohol Percentage fields are considered as annual percentage figures, i.e., for 12 months from January to December. When the process runs, the system also considers the shortfall appointments to calculate the number of screenings for the next period as specified in the Schedule for Next Months field.
    • When Annual Count is selected in the Use Above Numbers As parameter, then all the figures specified in the Drug Percentage, Alcohol Percentage, and Drug-Alcohol Percentage fields are considered as the annual number of appointments required, i.e., for 12 months from January to December. When the process runs, the system also considers the shortfall appointments to calculate the number of screenings for the next period as specified in the Schedule for Next Months field.
    • When Period Percentage is selected in the Use Above Numbers As parameter, then all the figures specified in the Drug Percentage, Alcohol Percentage, and Drug-Alcohol Percentage fields are considered as the appointment percentage for the period as specified in the Schedule for Next Months field. When the process runs, the system DOES NOT consider the shortfall appointments to calculate the number of screenings for the next period.
    • When Period Count is selected in the Use Above Numbers As parameter, then all the figures specified in the Drug Percentage, Alcohol Percentage, and Drug-Alcohol Percentage fields are considered as the appointment number for the period as specified in the Schedule for Next Months field. When the process runs, the system DOES NOT consider the shortfall appointments to calculate the number of screenings for the next period.
  • Generate Patient List Only: This field determines whether only a Patient List of selected patients for screening should be generated or Appointments of the selected patients for screening should be created. The values in this dropdown list are No and Yes. If No is selected from this dropdown list, then random appointments are scheduled for the selected patients. If Yes is selected from this dropdown list, then the process generates a list of randomly selected patients to undergo screening. In both cases, the Appointment List/Patient List of the selected patients is sent to their respective employers and to the email address entered in the Email Addresses parameter. By default, No is selected in this dropdown list.
  • For Employer(s) ID-Name: On clicking the Binocular icon beside this field, the EMPLOYER popup is displayed. The user can select one or multiple employers who want the screening appointments scheduled for their employees with the same parameters. Select the employer(s) from the EMPLOYER popup and click the OK button. Upon selecting the employer(s), the selected employer IDs followed by the employer name are displayed in the For Employer(s) ID-Name field. It is a mandatory field.
  • Consider Employer Consortium: This field determines whether the selected employers in the For Employer(s) ID-Name field are part of a consortium or not. The values in this dropdown list are No and Yes. If No is selected from this dropdown list, then the employers selected in the For Employer(s) ID-Name field are considered as individual employers, whereas if Yes is selected from this dropdown list, then the employers selected in the For Employer(s) ID-Name field are part of a consortium. By default, No is selected in this dropdown list.
  • Schedule for Next Months: This field determines how many months from the process's execution date the process should consider for selecting patients or scheduling appointments. It is a numeric field.
  • Email Addresses: This field is used to specify a semicolon-separated (;) list of email addresses for only the intended recipient(s). The email contains a consolidated Patient List or Scheduled Appointments.
  • Email Randomization List to Employer(s): This is a dropdown list consisting of the options Yes and No. By default, No is selected in this dropdown list. If No is selected from this dropdown list, no email is sent to the selected employer(s). If Yes is selected from this dropdown list, then the list of selected patients for screening appointments, specific to the employer, is sent to the employer's email ID configured under the Address button in the Employer Master in PrognoCIS.
  • Patient Type: On clicking the Binocular icon beside this field, the GROUPS popup is displayed, which displays a list of all active patient types available in the system. The user can select one or multiple patient types from this multi-select search list. After selecting all applicable patient types, the selected patient type IDs followed by the patient type description are displayed in the Patient Type field on the Params popup. It is a mandatory field.
Note: Kindly note that before running the Randomization Process for Drug, Alcohol, and Drug-Alcohol Screening, it is important that the associated properties and process parameters are configured properly.
