Introduction:

Health Maintenance Master defines the periodic tests to be carried out on patients according to a defined rule.
On the basis of a patient's age, sex, PMH, and the applicable protocols, some Lab, Radiology, Consult, or Procedure orders get scheduled with their respective frequencies. The doctor can also schedule a test on an ad-hoc basis as part of the Health Maintenance.

The results coming in from a Lab, Radiology, Consult, or Procedure are also displayed in the Health Maintenance cell of the Face Sheet.

Field Description:

Type: Displays the type of tests. There are two types of entries: the automatically scheduled Health Maintenance Test (HM), and the second being one explicitly scheduled by a doctor ("Dr." shown with a green background). The following are the types of tests:

LB: Lab
RL: Radiology
CO: Consults
PR: Procedures

Test Name: Displays the scheduled test name in brief.

Plus or Add button
: Applicable for the "Dr." type. Suppose a doctor has prescribed drugs to reduce sugar levels and wants to monitor a patient's blood sugar every two weeks for some time. The list of tests invoked depends on the Type radio button, whether it is Lab, Rad, or Consult. The doctor can click this button and select the required tests.

HM Ordered icon
: Select the checkbox to order the required Lab, Radiology, Consult, Procedure, and/or Protocol.

Remarks: If a new test is added using the "+" button, the doctor can enter the drug for which they want to conduct the test.

Due Date: The scheduled date (computed by the system according to the test rule and the doctor's altered frequency, if any) for this test. If the Due Date is prior to the current date, and the test is not executed, it means it is overdue. Hence, it is highlighted in a different color.

Freq: Displays the frequency of the test according to the applicable protocol.

Status: The current status of the test is selected here. The available statuses are Tentative, Due, Ordered, Done, Non-Compliance, Not Required, and Declined. Under History, the tests with Done and Non-Compliance statuses can be viewed.

Done Date: Displays the date the selected test was completed. The date can be changed by clicking on the calendar available next to this field.

Result: The result of the completed test is entered here. A hyperlink of the Order No. is displayed if an ordered Lab, Radiology, Consult, or Procedure is present with the status 'Results Received'. Clicking the hyperlink displays the test result details.
Note iconNote: If results for a Lab, Radiology, Consult, or Procedure are in the "entered" state, once the Order is created, they are replaced with the hyperlink.

Done Details icon: The Done Details button is used to enter information like Due Date, Status, Done Date, Freq No., etc. On the 'Done Details' popup, the Order No. hyperlink is displayed next to the Result/Comments field; clicking it displays the test result details.

Notes: Add notes with phrases to the Health Maintenance. You can do this by using an acronym. The favorite acronyms are shown in the autocomplete search. Select any acronym or type the acronym and press the Tab key to populate Health Maintenance Notes. You may also click the Insert Phrases search button to add a phrase from the Fast Phrases search popup. Click the Zoom Notes icon to open and view the notes in the Health Maintenance Notes popup.

Action Buttons:

OK: Click OK to save the entered details.

Cancel: Click Cancel to discard any changes made.

History: The user can see the history of HM tests whose statuses are Ordered, Done, Non-Compliance, Not Required, or Declined. In the Health Maintenance History popup, the history of tests (Done, Non-Compliance, and Not Required) is displayed in the Type, Test, Status, Date, Result, Remarks, and Modified Date columns.

Print: Click this button to print the data entered on this screen.

Hint:
  1. A periodically run Administrator process computes the next scheduled date.
  2. When a user starts a new encounter, if a Face Sheet Encounter (an encounter started in the absence of a patient) has HM (Health Maintenance) related tests with statuses such as 'Done', 'Non-Compliance', or 'Not Required', the system creates a 'zero-duration encounter' of type 'FZ'. The Encounter History keeps track of these FZ encounters. The FZ encounters are intermediate encounters that are started and closed automatically. As a result, depending on the 'Done' and/or 'Non-Compliance' frequency set for the tests in the Face Sheet encounter, the 'Due' tests are displayed in a new encounter created by a user.
