Topics Preferred Drugs Master Search:
Introduction: PrognoCIS uses the Industry standard Comprehensive Drug Database from First Databank (FDB), containing approximately 40,000 drug codes. Since providers often use a limited set of drugs based on their specialty, they can create a personalized list of preferred drugs by selecting the required ones from the full database. This tailored list simplifies the prescribing process by narrowing down the options to frequently used drugs, though users can still access the full database if needed.

Providers can create their own preferred drug list by navigating to Settings → My Preferences → Search list column → Drug after logging in. For clinics where all providers share the same specialty, a clinic-specific list of drug codes can be created from the Preferred Drug Master screen. This shared list eliminates the need to individually select common drug codes for every provider.

When adding drugs to a prescription during an encounter, the system displays both the provider’s preferred drug list and the clinic’s preferred drug list together for convenience.
