PrognoCIS has a list of close to 15000 CPT/HCPC codes. Depending on the specialty of the Provider, they are likely to use a very limited set of codes. So, a Provider can create a list of their preferred codes by selecting the required ones from the complete list. This way, while the Provider always has an option to select a code from the comprehensive list, they can choose to instead select a code from their limited list.

This Provider-specific list can be created by going to Settings → My Preferences → CPT/HCPC option when the Provider has logged in. In clinics where all Providers are of the same specialty, it is possible to create a Clinic-specific list of CPT/HCPC codes by going to Settings → Configuration → Clinic column → Pref Cpt/Hcpc. This list is shared by all Providers, so common codes need to be selected only once.

While assigning ICD codes on the Assessment screen of an encounter, the list of Provider Preferred + Clinic Preferred CPT/HCPCs along with the SNOMED and ICD10 codes are shown together.

Column Descriptions

Del checkbox: Check this checkbox and click on the save button to delete the selected CPT/HCPC code from the list.

Type: This column displays the type of code i.e. CPT or HCPC or SNOMED.

Description: This column displays the description of the selected CPT/HCPC code. Click on the Add CPTs icon or the Add CPT/HCPC icon to invoke the CPT/HCPC popups to choose CPT/HCPC/SNOMED codes to be assigned as Clinic preferred codes. It is mandatory to specify at least one of the three names given for the disease. The username will be used to specify this CPT/HCPC code in PrognoCIS. Since the names are imported from the External CPT/HCPC database the user is allowed to change the name according to User's nomenclature.

CPT/HCPC Search popup: This search popup is invoked on clicking the Add CPTs icon and is functional for CPT/HCPC and SNOMED codes.
  • Code/Description: Select this option and either enter a CPT code or the code description directly in the Search field and hit the Enter key on your keyboard to search for results.
  • SNOMED: Select this option to enter a SNOMED code directly in the Search field to search for results. Note that SNOMED search does not support description-based search.
  • Search: Enter a search criteria in this field and hit the Enter key to display a filtered list of codes based on the entered criteria.
  • Selected: The field displays the codes that are selected by the User from the search results.
  • Ok button: Click this button to close the popup and the selected code(s) to the list.
Code: This column displays the CPT/HCPC or SNOMED code.

SNOMED Code: This column displays the SNOMED code.

ICD10 Code: This column displays the ICD10 code number.

ICD10 Code:

Count: This column displays the number of times this ICD Code was used (in Assessment) in the last 6 months.
