| A doctor has a number of selections tailored to their choices. The total number of ICD codes, drugs, and lab tests is very large. A doctor hardly needs to know the comprehensive list. Depending on their specialization, they are likely to have a very small set of frequently used ICD codes, CPT codes, drugs, etc. This option allows the individual to define their choices in each of the categories listed here. A doctor will typically need to visit these options at the start of implementation, and less frequently thereafter. Search List: Search List allows a doctor to customize various lists such as ICD codes, CPT codes, and drug codes. Click on each option to create the list. This shows a screen with a list of Preferred Codes. The Tests: Like the comprehensive list of ICD codes, the list of all lab tests and radiology tests is also long. The doctor can select their frequently used tests as their preferences. When they go to order lab or radiology tests, they see their preferred list of tests, followed by the comprehensive list of tests. Test Templates: A template is a list of tests grouped under one heading. There can thus be templates for HPI, Vitals, and ROS. Settings > Configuration > Tests also has these options to define templates. However, note that they create a system-level template (common to all doctors), whereas invoking it from here creates a template for the exclusive use of the doctor who created it. Document Templates: Documentation and correspondence are major, time-consuming tasks for any practice. These can be sped up with the use of document templates. While there can be a number of common templates designed under Settings > Configuration > Masters > Reports Templates, the doctor can create their own preferred templates for Progress Notes and Letters Out. The doctor can also create templates for a standard set of drugs, lab tests, and radiology tests. Using this standard set speeds up the process of ordering. Order Set: Order Set allows doctors to customize or delete the various order sets, such as Prescription, Lab, Radiology, and Order Sheet. |
