Topics Message Outbox Search:
Introduction: This option is a messaging system for use within the application. Internally, there are five types of messages.

The Outbox shows all the messages sent by the logged-in user. The user can sort, delete, and read them. Read Date indicates when the message was read by the recipient. This box is expected to have only a few entries, since it is expected that the majority of messages will be sent by the system (Alerts / Notifications).

Properties: This button is exclusively visible to users with Read Access to the Properties Master screen. Access to this button is strategically granted to enhance user functionality. Clicking the Properties button triggers a popup, presenting a list of properties from the Properties Master screen in PrognoCIS that cater to the Outbox.

All radio button: Displays all incoming messages.

ToDo radio button: Displays only incoming messages where the flag is applicable.

Type: The type of message.

Notification: These are system-generated notifications to doctors when a predefined, subscribed event takes place. In the context of the application, some events have been predefined. The configuration option allows the administrator to subscribe to one or more of these events. These could be simple ones, such as "Today's appointment for Mr. John has been rescheduled," or "A new patient has been referred by a doctor."

All radio button: Displays all incoming messages.

Alert radio button: Displays only alert-type messages.

Normal Mail radio button: Displays only normal mail.

Notification radio button: Displays only notification-type messages.

Telephonic radio button: Displays only telephonic-type messages.

ToDo radio button: Displays only incoming messages where the flag is applicable.

Urgent radio button: Displays only urgent-type messages.

Alerts: These are also system-generated notifications to doctors when a predefined, subscribed event takes place. The difference is that the doctor is expected to act on it. A nurse enters a new Lab Order, and the doctor is expected to approve it. Likewise, they need to approve the Lab Results that have come in.

Normal Message: This is like a short email message, which can be sent to any authorized user within the application.

Urgent Message: This is like a Normal Message, but with a different categorization to indicate priority.

Telephonic Message: A message to be sent to a user within the application when that user was busy and had received a telephone call attended by the sender.

Flag: Flags are used to track messages with actions. These same messages can also be viewed by selecting the ToDo radio button. If the action is complete, the flag is not displayed. Scheduled actions are indicated with a green flag and overdue actions with a red flag.

To: The receiver's name, which is hyperlinked to take the user to the concerned message.

Subject: The message subject.

Action: The action to be taken, if applicable.

Zoom To: Clicking this button takes the user to the referenced document.

Read Date: The message read date.

Sent Date: The message sent date.

Due Date: The due date for the action.

The system takes care of the message box size. The messages are automatically purged after the number of messages exceeds a particular number. This number is defined in the property, Mail Related Params > mail.purgecount, and can be specified as per user requirements. The messages can be sorted by clicking each of the underlined column headings.
