Topics Illustrations Search:
Although doctors are hard-pressed for time, they do take the pains to explain to the patient the problem with illustrations. The illustrations can explain the formation of plaque in arteries, or what a colonoscopy is, or anything else depending on the clinic specialty.

When the system is installed, the relevant illustrations can be defined in Settings > Configuration > Groups > Illustrations. The image will be a GIF file with the primary name as the code. This defined list of reference illustrations can be viewed. Click on the required icon to pop up the image. There are two types of icons displayed:

Image: This displays a GIF file and allows the user to mark a pin at any position along with comments. The doctor can also draw lines on the image to explain the problems.

Slide Show: If the illustration code ends in the character "1", the system understands that there are images with the illustration code ending in 1, 2, 3... and so on. The system reads all these images and presents them as a slide show. This becomes very useful to explain to patients procedures like cataract removal and angioplasty. There are no constraints on the number of sequential images that could be defined for the slide show. The system is also smart enough to recognize if any intermediate image is missing, and it will jump across it.

All the images referred to must be GIF files only.

If an image was already selected for the encounter and comments were entered for it, its name will appear at the top of the list. This way, the doctor knows precisely the position of the pin and the comments used in each encounter of a patient.
