Topics External Rad Result Entry Search:
It is likely that the Patient's referring Doctor has sent a copy of his Rad Order Results to the Clinic. Although the Clinic had not ordered the Rad Order, the results could form an important part of the Patient's medical history. Hence, this also needs to be stored as a part of PrognoCIS.

Click on this option to open a Search List for selecting existing External Rads (Non-Reviewed), or the user may click the Add New button to enter a new External Rad.

The Order No. is generated based on Prefix and Length in the properties, Rad Params > rad.ext_orderno.prefix and Rad Params > rad.ext_orderno.length respectively, as for the Rad Order. Typically, the user would use a different prefix to differentiate the external Rad from the Clinic's Rad Orders.

Results Received: The date as seen on the Result page.

Patient: Use the Search Button to select a Patient. Note that only those Patients who have at least one encounter are included in the list. (This is because a Rad Order has to be associated with an encounter.) The Rad Order is associated with the Last Encounter of the selected Patient.

Doctor: This is the Primary Doctor of the selected Patient.

Slideshow Button: If there are one or more radiology images (jpeg, jpg, gif, bmp only) attached for one or more tests, clicking this button opens a pop-up to display a slideshow for all those tests.

Results Tab

Click the button to select Test Orders. The Results Tab now shows tests grouped by category.

All other fields are identical to those explained in Rad Results.

Type, Location, Notes:
These three columns will be displayed only if the results are imported from HL7.

Note that for the Attach Tab, the Attach Button is disabled until the External Rad Order is saved for the first time.

Save: Results can be approved only if:
a) the Remarks Tab has an entry
b) the Attach Tab has an attachment
c) results are entered for tests.

On saving the External Rad Order Results, if the logged-in user is a Doctor, or has Approve rights, the status is set to Complete.

If a Nurse without Approve rights enters results, the status is set to Results Received and an alert is sent to the Doctor so that they can approve it. If the Nurse has Approve rights, the status is set to Complete, and only a notification is sent to the Doctor to inform them.
