The Audit Trail option provides the system administrator with the provision of seeing a log of modifications made to the master and transaction data. User Type: There are different types of users, such as Doctors, Nurses, Staff, and Referring Doctors, who modify the data in the system. The pop-up dialog box lets you select the desired user type. If you do not select any option, then all the Medics are listed. If the system administrator wants to filter on the exact name of the user, he has the option to select the name of the Medic, which helps in narrowing down the search. Object Type: The data in the system is comprised of the master level and transactional level and is grouped into various objects. For example, the data pertaining to the encounter is stored in a logical object called Patient, and the data for ICD, CPT, and Drug codes is stored in the ICD, CPT, and Drugs Database object. If the system administrator wants to know the changes made to an ICD code by a certain user, he can narrow down the search by selecting the ICD object. If the system administrator knows the exact ICD code that was modified, then he can select the ICD code by invoking a search on the ICD. Menu Options: This option helps to further narrow down the search criteria by providing the option of selecting the menu option from which the related data was modified. From Date: This option further narrows down the search criteria by specifying the From Date. Up To Date: This option further narrows down the search criteria by specifying the Up To Date. Action: The various types of modifications that are logged in the system are as follows:
Using the type of action, the system administrator can select what type of modified data he wishes to see. Sort Order: The Sort Order specifies the order in which the data records are sorted. The default sort sequence is by Date/Time; however, the user can select from other options, such as Name and Object. This option allows the user to organize his data. Using the above set of options, the user can then know exactly who modified which set of data and when. Likewise, if he wants to know who changed the name of a particular ICD code or who added an allergy record to a particular patient's encounter, etc. |
