This is a graphical user interface to enter details for PMH / HPI / ROS / Physical / Specialty using Diagrams and Pins marked on them. This allows user to store information about a patient's problems in image format.

Diagrams: User can use one or more diagrams for marking details. There is a lot of background preparation for this, as the following steps have to be performed:
  • Define the list of diagrams
  • Make the scanned images of diagrams available as .jpeg files. Maximum size of the image could be
    Width=435 pixels
    Height=440 pixels
  • Mark Image Area Map for different applicable body areas using a suitable tool
  • The pixel values of Image Area Map and corresponding Body Area Names have to be stored in the database.
  • Mark areas which will zoom into another diagram.
  • Use the above steps to define different image areas and the corresponding body area names for the zoomed image and store it in the database.
  • Since the diagrams will be different for each specialty and involves a lot of work, it will need to be customized by the Support team for each clinic with the above preparation.
Pins:
  • Define a set of Pins with their code and names in
    Settings > Configuration > Workflow > Diagram Pins
  • The Pin images must be .png files with a transparent background and size 15 pixels x 15 pixels. The primary name of file must be same as Code
  • Copy this image in datafiles > testpins directory on the server.

The definition of Diagrams and Pins will typically be done with the assistance of Bizmatics support staff.

Setting Default Diagram: Settings > My Preferences (available on Provider login) > Test Templates > Defaults allows user to select a default diagram for PMH / HPI / ROS / Physical / Specialty.

copy button: Before entering any pins it is possible to copy the Diagram Pins from the current patient's previous encounter by clicking Copy. Once the new pins are saved, this button is hidden. This feature is available for Vitals / HPI / ROS / Physical / Specialty / Social History depending upon the settings in property, Applicable Test Copy > applicable.test.copy.VT/HP/RS/PH/SC/SH. Some settings allow user to copy these details automatically on creation of the encounter and save them.

Show Comments: Check this checkbox to see comments that are entered in table, alongside the pins on the diagrams.

Show PMH: This can Show either Current OR All Past Medical History. All includes the cases marked as Recovered in earlier encounters. All will display pins in current encounter + Pins marked as Recovered in all previous encounter of the patient. If the Doctor enters Dates in the comments, then All option here along with Show Comments gives a complete pictorial History of Patient at a glance

When an encounter is created, the system ensures that Pins which were not marked as Recovered in earlier encounters are available by default in the new encounter. Further, while doing a HPI/ROS Doctor can mark an ailment to be added to PMH. All such entries are also visible here.

Del: Click the delete button to delete that respective plotted Pin.

Pin: Displays the plotted pin image.

Location: Displays the details of the location where the Pin has been plotted.

Comments: Enter the required comments for the respective plotted Pin.

Add to PMH: Check the checkbox to add the respective Pin in the Patient's Past Medical History.

Status: Select the status of the plotted Pin from the following list:

  • Existing,
  • Existing Temporary,
  • Existing Better,
  • Existing Worse,
  • Existing No Change,
  • Existing Recurring,
  • Acute,
  • Chronic,
  • Recovered,
  • Inactive
Clear All Pins button: Click the button to clear all the plotted Pins.

Operation:
Using this feature is simple.

  • All the Pins, along with their names are displayed at the top.
  • The doctor's default diagram is selected in the list box and shown.
  • The table on the right shows all the Pins used to mark problems.
  • Click any Pin to select it. The selected Pin will be shown with a white background.
  • Click the required position on the diagram to place the selected Pin.
  • A corresponding entry appears in the table on the right.
  • If the area on the diagram is zoom-in specified, the new diagram will be displayed.
  • It is possible to define diagrams with zoom-in up to any number of levels.
  • Continue marking Pins on the new diagram.
  • The table on the right shows a comprehensive list of Pins used in all diagrams.
  • The back button is displayed if the user zooms in to a new diagram.
  • Click back to go back to the parent diagram.
  • Click on any row (location column) in the table on the right to invoke the diagram used.
  • Enter special remarks / comments on a row.
  • Click OK to save all the marked Pins and comments.
  • When this option is invoked subsequently for the same encounter it will display the diagram in the first row. This may not necessarily be the doctor's default diagram.
