1. Order Sheet with a new User Interface (UI) – the bifurcation of various panels
 1.1 Top panel
 

• The top panel displays the list of Orders i.e. Lab/Radiology/Consult/Procedure of statuses, ‘To be Ordered' and ‘Ordered'.

• It is a horizontal scrolling list that displays the number of Orders depending upon the Users' screen resolution. A click on icon displays the previous set of Orders (if any) and a click on icon displays the next set of Orders. Refer to figure 1.1-1

• The sequence of Orders displaying on the Top Panel is Lab, Radiology, Consult, and then Procedure with Order status, ‘Ordered' followed again by Orders of Lab, Radiology, Consult, and then Procedure but with Order status, ‘To be Ordered'.

• Orders such as Lab, Radiology, Consult and Procedure are identified by the alphabet ‘L', ‘R', ‘C', and ‘P' respectively appearing to the Left of the Order number (in case of Order with ‘Ordered' statuses) or to the left of the Vendor name (in case of Order with ‘To be Ordered' statuses).

• All the Orders that are ‘Ordered' already are distinguished with a tick () mark before L, R, C, and P.

• Depending on the Order schedule (i.e. either now or future) the Orders have the indication of (N) or (< number of days > D) respectively. Refer to figure 1.1-2

• The delete icon: is available only for the Orders that are yet to be ordered.

• Selected Orders display in a darker background (Echo Blue color). Refer to figure 1.1-3

 1.2 Center panel
 

The center panel of the Order Sheet UI is further divided into two tabs, Select and Order. Refer to figure 1.2-1

Description of the Select tab is given below and then followed by that of the Order tab and notice that the Select tab is further divided into three sections, top; left; and right. Refer to figure 1.2-2

ICDs are associated to the Order using the Add ICDs button on the Top section; the Left section displays the respective tests which on click are transferred to the Right section (under the respective accordions of Lab/Radiology/Consult/Procedure Refer to figure 1.2-3) and forms a consolidated list of Selected Orders that can be saved and created.

Top section

The Top section displays all the ICDs that have been either added from the Assessment screen or added from the Lab/Radiology/Consult/Procedure Order; the assessment ICDs are displayed followed by non-Assessment ICDs of the current encounter.

  • Looking at these added ICDs we can distinguish based on the color code – Dark Cyan colored ICDs are the ones coming from the Assessment screen while Olive colored ICDs have source other than Assessment i.e. they are non-Assessment ICDs.

Note: Assignment of Assessment and Non-Assessment ICDs to an Order is dependent on the property, order.assign.icds.rule.

  • A click on the Add ICDs button gives you choice to choose the source of addition for the ICD i.e. either General Search or Past ICD Search. Refer to figure 1.2-4

Note: If ICDs added exceeds the available space then ellipses are displayed. The tool tip displays the details of ICD. Refer to figure 1.2-5

Limitation: The tool tip cannot display information more than 512 characters on Internet Explorer (IE) browser (Refer https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/ms534683(v=vs.85).aspx).

Left section

The Left hand section consists of five tabs, namely, Lab; Radiology; Consult; Procedure; and Quick. These tabs facilitates the search for individual Lab, Radiology, Consult, and Procedure tests.

• Each tab individually is horizontally divided for ‘search/filtering’ of parameters and the ‘display’ of results for these elements. Refer to figure 1.2-7

Search/Filter Pane

• Note that the criteria to display tests on the Seach Result list panel are
    o Patient's gender
    o Vendor
    o Filters applied

• Not all the parameters and options are available for each tab, for quick reference. Refer to Table 1: Availability of various options 1

• Following is the consolidated list of availability of various options on these individual tabs:

Right section

• The Selected Orders consists of accordion panels of Lab Orders; Radiology Order; Consult; and Procedure. Refer to figure 1.2-8 And each test is displayed Vendor wise. For example, the tests of Lab Vendor, Lab Corp would have all lab tests under the same Lab vendor.

Note: There is an exception, on the Quick tab; the tests selected are displayed only under ‘Any Lab’ or ‘Any Rad’ vendor respectively.

Note: The icon: indicates there are data or details present in the respective accordion.

• The toggle buttons when expanded displays the details of individual tests that have been transferred from the left side section to the respective section on the right side with a click on Select icon: Refer to figure 1.2-9

Note: Tests added from Quick tab on the left to the right side are displayed under the respective category of accordion e.g. Lab tests under Lab Order; Radiology tests under Radiology Order; Consult Order under Consult; and Procedure Order under Procedure.

 1.3 Action Buttons panel
 

Displays respective action buttons under respective tabs of Select and Order.

Save: On click updated details are saved.

Create Order: On click the Order, with status ‘Entered’ or ‘Approved’ is created.

Note: Once the Order is created, the Right Hand Section additionally displays Order status.

Reset: On click all unsaved changes are reverted
