  • The Procedure template can be selected by clicking on the plus sign
  • When the user clicks ‘ save' the status changes to ‘To be Processed' .
  • After the procedure is saved, the Procedure template will be added to the Specialty screen. A hyperlink is provided with the Specialty template name so that the user can browse to the Specialty screen from the link provided.
  • Home page status will be Process P .
  • When the user saves the information of the procedure template on Specialty screen or if the user specifically marks it ‘Done' ; the status of the template on the Order Sheet changes to ‘Processed' .
  • The user cannot close an encounter if a Procedure is not done . Procedure status is displayed in red on the Encounter Close screen; along with Prescription , Laboratory or Radiology status.
  • Likewise Procedure button is added on the Assessment screen from where the user can select the Procedural template, which gets added to the Order Sheet .
  • The user can not delete a Procedure from the Order Sheet if it is ‘ Processed' .

Lab TAB: On coming to this screen, an attending Doctor sees the list of:

  1. Lab tests actually ordered (if already done)
  2. All the Lab tests from his preferred list
  3. Lab tests which need to be scheduled as per the Protocols applicable for this Patient Encounter.
  4. Lab tests which have been ordered in previous encounters but whose results are still awaited.
All the above four categories are differentiated by different colors. The doctor has to only check the tests which need to ordered. The doctor can click on the button to pop up a list of all Lab tests and select one or more from the list.
If the test was already ordered, the Lab Order No. generated is shown on the same line. This Lab Order No. is hyperlinked to take the user to the actual Lab Order. The associated vendor name is also displayed.

If the number of tests in the Doctor preferred Lab Tests are too many, this list will be too long, possibly affecting the response. If property, Order Sheet > os.populate.preftest is set to Y, all the preferred tests are populated in the tab as explained above. If the property was set to N, the Doc Preferred Lab Tests are not populated, instead the button invokes a search with options to select from preferred tests and all tests list (as used in Lab Orders).

Add from Order set button: The Doctor can create a set of Lab Tests + Radiology tests + Consults to be ordered and save them as a standard Order Set. A click on this button displays the defined Order Sets allowing the Doctor to select any one. On selecting an Order set, all the tests (Lab, Rad and Consults) will get added to the list of tests under Lab, Rad and Consults tabs and these tests will be marked checked.

If a nurse had logged in, she would see only the tests checked by the Doctor for ordering.

radIOLOGY TAB: The same logic is applicable to the Rad tab.On coming to this screen, an attending Doctor sees the list of :
  1. Rad tests actually ordered (if already done)
  2. All the Rad tests from his preferred list
  3. Rad tests which need to be scheduled as per the Protocols applicable for this Patient Encounter.
  4. Rad tests which have been ordered in previous encounters but whose results are still awaited.

All the above four categories are differentiated by different colors. The doctor has to only check the tests which need to ordered. The doctor can click on the button to pop up a list of all Rad tests and select one or more from the list.
If the test was already ordered, the Rad Order No. generated is shown on the same line. This Rad Order No. is hyperlinked to take the user to the actual Rad Order. the associated vendor name is also displayed.

If the number of tests in the Doctor preferred Rad Tests are too many, this list will be too long, possibly affecting the response. If property, Order Sheet > os.populate.preftest is set to Y, all the preferred tests are populated in the tab as explained above. If the property was set to N, the Doc Preferred Rad Tests are not populated, instead the button invokes a search with options to select from preferred tests and all tests list (as used in Rad Orders).

If a nurse had logged in, she would see only the tests checked by the Doctor for ordering.

Consult TAB: This shows the list of all Consults, Consult name and Consult Doctor, which need to be scheduled as per the Protocols applicable for this Patient Encounter.

If the number of defined Consults are too many, this list will be too long, possibly affecting the response. If property, Order Sheet > os.populate.preftest is set to Y, all the defined Consults are populated in the tab as explained above. If the property was set to N, the defined Consults are not populated, instead the button is displayed which invokes a search to select required Consults.

Prescription TAB: This shows the list of all Drugs, which are either sample or InHouse drugs. This tab is for dispensing the drugs within Clinic itself.

User can dispense the drugs by selecting drugs and clicking on "Dispense" button.

Dispense button: On click of this button a popup is presented selected Drugs. Here user can edit the Manufacturer, Site , lot number, expires on fields of the Drug and can dispence it. Once dispensed the status of the Drug changes to "Completed".

Statistics button: Click to get a list of tests ordered by the same doctor, in the last 180 days, using one or more of the ICD Codes assigned to the current patient. The pop-up window shows the tests and the frequency in descending order. When the Lab tab is selected this button shows the statistics for Lab tests. When the Radiology tab is selected this button shows the statistics for Radiology tests. When the Consults tab is selected this button is not seen.

Order Set button: This button is displayed only when the login person is a Doctor. The current set of selected Lab + Radiology + Consults can be saved as a Set by the Doctor. This button displays the list of all existing Order Sets. User may decide to overwrite an existing Order Set or create a new one. Select one of the Order Set. The Doctor can thus make Order Set of often ordered tests for various common ailments. This button and the button are shown if the property, Order Sheet > os.orderset.use, is set to Y.

Order button:
This is visible only if a nurse logs in.

Lab TAB: Note that the nurse will see only the tests checked by the Doctor for ordering. A color convention differentiates between tests which are already ordered, tests which can be ordered in the in house Lab, all other tests to be ordered. The nurse is expected to check one or more tests and click on the order button. This will invoke a pop up allowing for selection of a Lab vendor. The system will double check if the selected tests are supported by the selected vendor. It will then create the Lab Order and the Order No. will be refreshed on this tab.

The system takes the user to the Letters out screen creating a letter with the default template specified in Consults and the referring Doctor selected.

General Order Sheet Changes:

On the screen Patient > Encounter > Assessment , clicking on the Rx button on displays the Prescription screen as a popup instead of displaying the ‘ Drug Search' ( ICDs can be associated with each drug from the Prescription screen ).

  1. There is an icon for Order Set at the top of the Order Sheet screen. When the user clicks on the Order Set icon, the list with Order Set is displayed along with Type and Multi - select checkboxes. Only the Order Set is displayed and not the tests included in the Order Set .
  2. The Order Set button at the bottom is renamed as ‘ Create Order Set ' ; which when clicked the screen Settings > Configuration > Order Set UI is displayed.
  3. The property, ordersheet.default.quickview accepts valid values as DR/MA/SA/RD/RN/BL/ST/RS Medics Type and sets the focus on quick tab in TOC> OrderSheet as per medics type value entered.
